Job Description

Our client is searching for a Process Engineer/Specialist to fill a rotational, on-site position.

Location: Eastern Russia

The rotation schedule is 51 days on-site followed by 33 days at home, with travel provided between rotations. Accommodation and three daily meals are also included for the duration of on-site work. The contract would be for a minimum timeframe of 6 months, can be extended.

Process Engineer/Specialist – Hydrometallurgy/Flotation (On-Site Back-to-Back)

We are seeking a technically strong Process Specialist to serve as the on-site back-to-back, providing continuity and operational support for hydrometallurgical processes at a remote site in the Russian Federation.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5–6 years of relevant on-site operational experience in mineral processing and hydrometallurgy.

  • Solid experience in solvent extraction (SX) of base metals, with the ability to support SX-EW circuit operations and troubleshooting.

  • Strong flotation background, including hands-on experience with flotation circuits, reagent optimisation, and performance improvement.

Highly Advantageous

  • Extensive experience with Jameson flotation cells and other advanced flotation technologies.

  • Practical knowledge of upstream processes, including milling, grinding, and Counter Current Decantation (CCD) circuits.

  • Prior experience in base metals or uranium processing operations.

Key Competencies

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse process data and support technical decision-making.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency for data handling, mass balancing, and reporting.

  • A hands-on approach, with the resilience to work long hours and address new technical challenges in a demanding plant environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SX-EW operations.

  • Lead and optimise flotation circuit performance, including Jameson cell operations and reagent management.

  • Monitor process performance, conduct data analysis, and drive optimisation initiatives across milling, flotation, and hydrometallurgical circuits.

  • Support hydrometallurgical laboratory operations and test work programs.

  • Contribute to process improvements and ensure smooth knowledge transfer during the transition period.

This role is critical to strengthening on-site flotation expertise while maintaining strong hydrometallurgical support and operational stability.
