Our client is searching for a Process Engineer/Specialist to fill a rotational, on-site position.
Location: Eastern Russia
The rotation schedule is 51 days on-site followed by 33 days at home, with travel provided between rotations. Accommodation and three daily meals are also included for the duration of on-site work. The contract would be for a minimum timeframe of 6 months, can be extended.
Process Engineer/Specialist – Hydrometallurgy/Flotation (On-Site Back-to-Back)
We are seeking a technically strong Process Specialist to serve as the on-site back-to-back, providing continuity and operational support for hydrometallurgical processes at a remote site in the Russian Federation.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5–6 years of relevant on-site operational experience in mineral processing and hydrometallurgy.
Solid experience in solvent extraction (SX) of base metals, with the ability to support SX-EW circuit operations and troubleshooting.
Strong flotation background, including hands-on experience with flotation circuits, reagent optimisation, and performance improvement.
Highly Advantageous
Extensive experience with Jameson flotation cells and other advanced flotation technologies.
Practical knowledge of upstream processes, including milling, grinding, and Counter Current Decantation (CCD) circuits.
Prior experience in base metals or uranium processing operations.
Key Competencies
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse process data and support technical decision-making.
Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency for data handling, mass balancing, and reporting.
A hands-on approach, with the resilience to work long hours and address new technical challenges in a demanding plant environment.
Core Responsibilities
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for SX-EW operations.
Lead and optimise flotation circuit performance, including Jameson cell operations and reagent management.
Monitor process performance, conduct data analysis, and drive optimisation initiatives across milling, flotation, and hydrometallurgical circuits.
Support hydrometallurgical laboratory operations and test work programs.
Contribute to process improvements and ensure smooth knowledge transfer during the transition period.
This role is critical to strengthening on-site flotation expertise while maintaining strong hydrometallurgical support and operational stability.
